About the Associate Position: 

As an associate, you have the opportunity to work on complex business problems within an inclusive and collaborative environment. Associates can expect to work on multiple projects at a time. Associates will play a critical role in driving the research, analysis and strategy of cases. Responsibilities and work experiences across consulting engagements vary widely by project and may include the following activities: 

  • Quantitative analyses and modeling: You will identify, design, and implement rigorous research methodologies; conduct cost-effectiveness, budget impact, and burden-of-illness analyses; and support health economic modeling using tools such as R, SAS, Stata, and others. You will also program and prepare databases and perform exploratory data analyses with visualizations. 
  • Data analytics using real-world data: You will work with a wide range of healthcare data, including electronic health records, insurance claims, clinical trial datasets, and registries, to perform sophisticated analyses that inform client strategies in HEOR, market access, and commercialization. 
  • Qualitative research and primary data collection: You will design data collection forms and protocols for chart reviews and implement prospective data collection efforts through surveys and in-depth interviews to capture critical patient and provider insights. 
  • Evidence synthesis and literature review: You will conduct both targeted and systematic literature reviews to contextualize quantitative findings and inform the design of economic models and broader research studies. 
  • Strategic communication and presentation: You will contribute to the development and delivery of internal and external presentations, translating complex analytical results into actionable recommendations or strategic insights for clients and stakeholders. 
  • Publication and thought leadership: You will collaborate with internal teams and external thought leaders to produce high-impact conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications that contribute to the advancement of the field. 
  • Regulatory support: You will support client submissions to regulatory bodies across global markets by preparing rigorous, evidence-based analyses and documentation. 
  • Business development: You will assist in proposal development, prepare capabilities presentations, and contribute to client pitches to help grow the firm’s portfolio of work. 
  • Team building and collaboration: You will collaborate with colleagues at all levels and across offices as part of your portfolio of case work, helping to foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment. 
  • Firm-building initiatives: You will contribute to firm life by participating in recruiting, mentoring, and inclusion initiatives; pro bono work; and business development and marketing activities (including marketing calls and pitch material development).

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills, and who are passionate about applying data and analytics to real-world challenges in the life sciences industry. Specifically, we seek candidates who have:  

  • A graduate degree with a focus on biostatistics, environmental health, epidemiology, health economics, health policy, mathematics, public health, statistics, or related quantitative fields.  
  • A Ph.D. (preferred) or an MBA, MBA/MPH, or MS plus at least 4 years of experience of applying quantitative methods to real-world research problems in the health care industry or experience in market access and/or health care consulting. 
  • Strong quantitative and research skills, with demonstrated expertise in health economics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or statistics. A proven track record of applying rigorous analytical methods to healthcare or policy research questions using real-world data sources is preferred.  
  • Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (e.g., SAS, Stata, R) and familiarity with healthcare data types such as claims, electronic health records (EHRs), registries, or clinical trial data. 
  • Passion for using data and evidence to inform strategic decisions across the life sciences product lifecycle (e.g., biopharmaceuticals, biotech, device manufacturers, or health policy). 
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Excellent attention to detail and an ability to tailor communications for diverse stakeholders. 
  • Strong academic record, with demonstrated organizational skills, a commitment to producing high-quality work, and a consistent drive for continuous learning and professional development. 
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and an inclusive, growth-oriented mindset, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced consulting environment.
